I’m going to say some things in this article that are critical of some who have criticized the book and movie. ❦ I am not recommending that you see the movie or read the book. If you have somehow managed to escape the details of the book and/or movie and you don’t want to know what’s in it, stop reading now.

The book has been out since 1991 (longer than some of you have been alive), the movie has been in theaters since January 21, and the internet is glutted with reviews, so I’m not going to worry about spoilers, and this article is geared toward those who are at least familiar with the story line of Redeeming Love. In fact, I’ve read, listened to, or watched half a dozen or so reviews of Redeeming Love from sources that seem to be trustworthy, and I’ve been disappointed in many of them.īut before I get too far ahead of myself, give me just a sec to set the stage… All the Disclaimers and Caveats… This time, even with everybody and her dog reviewing Redeeming Love, I’m not necessarily finding that to be the case. Can you stand one more piece on Redeeming Love? I don’t often jump on evangelical bandwagons, because, usually, by the time I’ve taken time to research and give serious thought to whatever the bombshell du jour is, other people have already said everything that needs to be said about it, and they’ve said it better than I can.
