
He has taught journalism at Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) in Iraq and held position of writer-in-residence at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania and George Brown College in Toronto. His writing has appeared in the New York Times, Time magazine, BBC, Washington Post, Toronto Star, Rudaw Media Network.

He was born and raised in Halabja, Kurdistan. He has a BA in global politics and a master’s degree in journalism.
